We all know Nashville is famous for music, but coming in at a close second—is food. Our luxury apartments are dangerously close to some of Nashville’s best eateries—in the best possible way. Here is a short list of some of the best places to fill your belly and satisfy your taste buds just a short drive away.

Classic Nashville Favorites

Arnold’s Country Kitchen

Open since 1982, Arnold’s Country Kitchen is a mom-and-pop restaurant where food is made from scratch and tastes just like grandma’s home-cooking. Winning a prestigious James Beard award in 2009, you’ll find a rotating daily menu with classic southern favorites like roast beef, liver and onions, chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese, black-eyed peas, and every other comfort food you can imagine. Luckily, you can walk off those calories with the two-mile walk home—or you can just grab an Uber.

Midtown Cafe

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Midtown Cafe has been open for over 30 years. Serving up delicious, unpretentious food, this cozy neighborhood staple is perfect any occasion from a business breakfast to a romantic dinner. Order some biscuits and gravy for breakfast or a grilled beef tenderloin at dinner. Be sure to check out their extensive wine menu which boasts 40 wines by the glass and over 150 bottle selections. They were rated one of the 50 best southern restaurants in America, according to OpenTable—and it’s just over a half a mile away from our Nashville apartments.

Rotier’s Restaurant

When you talk about Nashville food culture and history, it’s impossible not to bring up Rotier’s Restaurant. Literally mere steps from Elliston 23 is this iconic establishment that opened its doors in 1945. Rotier’s has been serving classic cheeseburgers, sandwiches, and milkshakes since WWII, so you know they’ve gotten it down to a perfect science—and the prices are right too! They are family-owned and have rightfully earned many local and national awards. Be sure to try their signature French Bread Burger and you’ll compare all other burgers to it afterward.

Elliston Place Soda Shop

Take a trip back in time and visit the Elliston Place Soda Shop for a hearty, diner-style meal and a flavored soda—just like they used to serve in diners back in the 50s. This retro-style soda shop has been open since 1939 and is on the national register of historic places. In fact, it was even mentioned in the book ‘1,000 Places to See Before You Die’. They’re well-known for their ‘Meat & Three’ daily menu which offers a selection of meat like turkey or fried chicken along with three sides—for less than $10! They also serve classic breakfasts starting at 7 am such as fried bologna, pancakes, and omelets.

New Nashville Favorites

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken

Founded by a father-and-son duo, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken has quickly established itself as a new Nashville favorite ever since it opened its doors in 2012. They do one thing and they do it extremely well—hot chicken. You can order it as a sandwich, as a plate with two sides, as a platter of wings, or as chicken strips. Pick your heat level, but be careful—their ‘Shut the Cluck Up’ sauce might take you down. They have classic southern sides like creamy coleslaw, southern greens, and pimento mac and cheese. Cool off with some sweet tea or an ice-cold beer.

Parson’s Chicken and Fish

Outdoor pet-friendly patio, boozy slushies, and fried food? Yes, please! Just a short drive away from our Nashville apartments is one of the city’s newest favorite eateries—Parson’s Chicken and Fish. Originally from Chicago, Parson’s opened a Nashville location in 2017 and they’ve had fried chicken and fish flying out their doors ever since. Enjoy their signature chicken and fish or a salad while sipping on their super-popular Negroni slushie—and don’t forget to bring your pup. It will be your go-to summer hangout spot.

Etch Restaurant

Ever since Etch opened in 2012, it has been a go-to destination for fine dining in Nashville. Offering lunch, dinner, and happy hour, Etch offers a globally-inspired menu set in a swanky and sleek environment. Appetizers include choices like a charcuterie plate or steak carpaccio, entrees range from lamb loin to scallops, and they offer delicious signature desserts like olive oil almond cake and chocolate and pretzel mousse. It’s a great choice for a romantic night out in the Music City.

Biscuit Love & ‘Za

Owned by the same creative couple, Biscuit Love and ‘Za are two must-eat restaurants near Elliston 23. Do you love biscuits? How about pizza? Then you’ll love their two concepts with some of the yummiest food in town. Solidified as a top Nashville brunch spot, Biscuit Love offers homemade biscuit sandwiches with lots of savory filling choices or you can opt for some sweet bonuts which are fried biscuit dough balls rolled in sugar and cinnamon. Then, for dinner, head over to their pizza restaurant called ‘Za where you can enjoy simple yet mouthwatering pies like a classic Margherita or ‘That Hipster Place in Brooklyn’ which has Sopressata and hot honey. Both of their restaurants offer adult beverages—sounds like Sunday Funday!
