Between work, family, and your social life—it’s important to carve out time with your significant other. Luckily for tenants at our Midtown Nashville apartments, there are lots of fun, creative, and romantic places to choose from when planning a date night. Within a short drive (or walk!) from Elliston 23, you and your partner can reconnect while exploring Nashville, eating, drinking, creating, and making lasting memories. There are so many date night ideas in the neighborhood!
Here’s a handful of some events, classes, and outings around town that are perfect for a night out with your favorite person.
Eat, cook, paint, and sight-see your way around Nashville with Dabble Events. This tour and event company offers some of the most fun options you could possibly think of when it comes to planning a date night.
Book a Food Adventures tour where you and your partner will explore the town while eating some of Nashville’s best barbecue, southern foods, craft breweries and more. Instead of eating food cooked by others, you could opt for a cooking class where you and your date can pick a style of food (Italian, Southern, Mexican, Sushi, and more) and learn how to cook the classics. Or, if you feel like getting in touch with your creative side, sign up for a painting class. Bring some wine and an art instructor will guide you step-by-step in creating your own masterpiece.
For a list of all Dabble Events classes and offerings, be sure to visit their website.
Chocolate and sweets are the epitomai of romance. So, what better way to spend a date night than making and eating your own chocolate candy bars? GooGoo Cluster offers a “Behind the Bar” experience where you and your date will learn about the history of Nashville’s candy bar, taste your way through samples, make your own GooGoo bar, and indulge in some rich and creamy tasting chocolates. The classes are short and sweet at just 30-40 minutes at $30 per person, so it’s a great starting point before your next outing.
Perhaps cocktail-making is more of your thing than cooking—in that case, spend your date night slinging drinks at Liquor Lab Nashville. You and your date will spend the evening learning about drink history, their recipes, and, of course, sipping on your creations. Check their calendar to find times and prices for classes like “All Things Absinthe,” “Spring Margaritas,” and “Bourbon & BBQ.”
Or, if you don’t feel like putting in any work and simply want to enjoy a fine-crafted cocktail, you can visit the Liquor Lab Studio, a private speakeasy where you’ll hang out with guest bartenders, listen to live music, and experience one-night-only cocktail menus. Visit their website for more information.
First Saturday Art Crawl
Downtown Nashville is abundant with amazing art galleries which makes it the ideal city for an art crawl. Dress up and get fancy while experiencing the First Saturday Art Crawl for date night. Galleries throughout town open their doors and offer rare opportunities to view work from local and world-renowned artists. Admission is free and many galleries offer complimentary wine and snacks. The event is hosted by FirstBank on the first Saturday at every month with participating venues along Fifth Avenue of the Arts and in the Historic Arcade.
For more information about this event as well as a list of all the art galleries downtown, visit the Nashville Downtown Partnership website.
Paddywax Candle Bar
Nothing says ‘romance’ and ‘sensuality’ like candles. So, why not spend your date night making candles with one another? At Paddywax Candle Bar, you and your date will select your favorite vessel before mixing and pouring your own candle—they offer over 40 fragrances and 65 vessels to choose from. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages or you can purchase wine and beer on-site.
Book your candle-pouring class for your next date night on their website.
Radnor Lake State Park
Being out in nature is a fantastic way to reconnect and bond with the one you love. Spending a day or weekend at Radnor Lake State Park is a great place to do that. The 1,368-acre park is a 20-minute drive from our Midtown Nashville apartments and offers abundant wildlife viewing, hiking, jogging, and more. Watch for owls, herons, otter, and more while hiking the 7.75-miles of trails while having great conversation with your date.
View maps, learn about visiting hours, and check the calendar for special ranger-led programs on the state park’s website.
Tempered Cafe & Chocolate/The Green Hour
Dinner, drinks, and dessert are all at your fingertips at Tempered Cafe & Chocolate/The Green Hour. Although the two establishments are technically separate, they are all on the same premises. Begin your night out at the Tempered Cafe where you can share a snack of hummus or a burrata plate before indulging on their homemade truffles or other treats. Afterward, head to The Green Hour where you can sample different varieties of absinthe and absinthe cocktails (snacks and small plates are served here as well)—beer, wine, and classic cocktail as available.

Swing Dance Nashville
Learn some new dance moves with your partner with Swing Dance Nashville. They offer three class series a month each month ranging from St. Louis Shag, Charleston, Lindy Hop, and more. After you’ve nailed down some fancy footwork, be sure to spend your Friday night at Swing Dance Nashville’s Jump Session. You’ll start off with a quick one-hour lesson before dancing the night away to DJs spinning jazz from the Swing Era.
