We’ve compiled a quick reference guide for dog owners (or potential dog owners!) of our Raleigh-Durham apartments—take a look.

Dog Parks

Downtown Durham Dog Park – Leash up the dog and take a quick 15-minute walk (or 3-minute drive) over to the Downtown Durham Dog Park. You’ll find separate areas for small and large dogs—both of which are enclosed. Waste bags are provided.

Northgate Dog Park –  Located approximately 6 minutes away by car, the Northgate Dog Park also has two separate enclosed areas as well as benches, water fountains, a kiosk, and waste bag dispensers. Be aware that this park is located in a flood plain and may be wet.

PetSafe Dog Park located at Duke Park – Let your dog run around at the PetSafe Dog Park located at Duke Park, about 7 minutes away by car. This park is a similar size to the downtown park and also provides waste bags.

Vets

Urban Tails – For check-ups, injuries, and illnesses, Urban Tails veterinary hospital is a quick five-minute drive from our Raleigh-Durham apartments. Perfect for in-and-out appointments and regularly scheduled visits. They even offer tele-visits.

Broadway Veterinary Hospital – Offering a full range of services, Broadway Veterinary Hospital provides routine care, dentistry, acupuncture, surgery, lab services, and more. They also provide health certificates for travel.

Willow Oak Veterinary Hospital – Dr. Mark Cagle runs the Willow Oak Veterinary Hospital where he and his staff provide care for cats, dogs, common domestic pets, as well as exotic animals. Dentistry and internal medicine are provided as well.

Bull City Veterinary Hospital – Using state-of-the-art equipment, they provide a wide range of services including surgery and Chinese medicine.

Boarding/Daycare/Grooming

Sit, Stay, N’ Play – Whether you’re dropping your dog off for a couple of hours or for a couple of days, Sit, Stay, N’ Play will make sure your pooch is well taken care of and having a blast. The 11,000 square-foot facility provides boarding, an indoor park, and doggy daycare. The center also offers grooming and training on-site.

Camp Bow Wow – When you drop your pup off at Camp Bow Wow, they want to assure every dog owner that their pet is in safe and loving hands. They’ll receive regular exercise, socialization with dogs and people, and comfort in a temperature-controlled environment. They even have live webcams so you can check-in via your smartphone.

Barkmore Beauty – The Barkmore Beauty Salon is the place to take your dog when they’re deserving of some serious pampering (or if they just need a nice, deep clean). They work with only one dog at a time, use aromatherapy, and make sure that your pup is comfortable and relaxed. Book everything from a bath and nail clip to a blueberry facial and massage.

Suite Paws – Suite Paws Pet Resort & Spa is pet boarding, grooming, and doggie daycare all in one. They pride themselves on being environmentally-friendly and love giving back to the community through charities and rescue organizations.

Pet-Friendly Shops/Restaurants

Parker & Otis – During normal business operation, Parker & Otis welcome your dog with open arms when you come in to shop. Let your fur baby accompany you while you pick up goodies like chocolate, pantry items, apothecary, drinkware, stationery, and more.

Geer Street Garden – The fun, casual, and laid-back environment of Geer Street Garden is the perfect place to grab a pint of beer and eat some down-home food while in the good company of your furry best friend. Take a seat on their large outdoor patio and eat their burger or chicken pot pie with a Durty Bull Lager.

Local 22 – Friendly and down-to-earth is how you can describe the people, food, and vibe at Local 22 Kitchen & Bar. Chow down on pizza, burgers, salads, and snacks at their pet-friendly establishment and wash it all down with a handcrafted signature cocktail.

The Federal – Standard pub fare with Mexican offerings? Yes, please. That’s what The Federal is serving up during normal business hours. The next time you have a hankering for some nachos, risotto, hanger steak, poutine, or carnitas—make the short walk with your dog over to this spot.

Ponysaurus – One of the best things in life might be enjoying a delicious handcrafted microbrew with your best friend in the world (your dog, of course)—and Ponysaurus Taproom & Beer Drive-Thru is the place to do that. Take a seat on an outdoor table and take in the sun while sipping on a cherry sour or crisp IPA.

Training

Good Human – The goal at Good Human Dog Trainers is to create a healthy and happy relationship between you and your dog. The trained and certified staff provides in-home dog training, ‘people training,’ family integration help, and even virtual training.

Shopping

Other End of the Leash – If your pup is in the need of a new bag of food, a new toy, accessory, wellness product, bed, or anything else pet-related, Other End of the Leash is your one-stop-shop.
