Everybody’s Favorite BBQ & Hot Sauce Festival
When: Friday through Sunday, October 7th – October 10th

Details: Highlighting America’s best barbecue vendors, the Everybody’s Favorite BBQ & Hot Sauce Festival is a multi-cultural outdoor event tours around the country and is headed to San Antonio. Happening just 20 minutes from our apartments on Vance Jackson, you’ll enjoy eating incredible BBQ, tasting an array of hot sauces, and listening to fantastic live music.

Fall Festival at Travis Park
When: Saturday, October 15th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Travis Park, 301 E Travis St, San Antonio, TX 78205
Details: Fall isn’t complete without attending the Fall Festival at Travis Park. Bring the entire family for a day filled with autumn festivities like games, face painting, a petting zoo, food, drinks, and more. There is also a costume contest for both adults and children with cash prizes.

Bark in the Park
When: Saturday, October 29th from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Sunken Garden Theater, 3875 N St Mary’s St, San Antonio, TX 78212
Details: Pack up your pooch and participate in Bark in the Park this year. “Bark in the Park is a pet costume contest and expo benefiting San Antonio animal shelters San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA) and Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL),” it says on the event’s website. The 1st place prize is $1,000 cash, with other prizes ranging from $100 to $750.

5th Annual Monster Dash
When: Sunday, October 30th from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
Where: Eisenhower Park, 19399 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78257
Details: Start your Halloween off by running, walking, or rolling for a good cause at the 5th Annual Monster Dash. The funds raised will aid in spinal cord research as well as for athletes that have been killed or severely injured while training, specifically cyclists and runners in TX. There are 1 mile, 5K, and 10K options for races. Don’t forget to wear your best costume!

Skylight Balloon Fest
When: Friday through Saturday, October 21st – October 23rd

Details: You’ll only need to drive less than half an hour from our Vance Jackson apartments to watch hot air balloons take flight at the Skylight Balloon Fest. In addition to watching the marvelous balloons, there will be the Skylight Market Days, food trucks, attractions, live concerts, and lots of fun family fun activities.

Fall River Walk Artisan Show

Details: Featuring over 40 handmade artisan booths, food, and other activities, the Fall River Walk Artisan Show is the best fall experience to get outside and support local artists. Vendors range from pottery, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, paintings, beadwork, and more.
