Enjoy a meal at Keegan’s Seafood where diners can indulge on housemade menu options like Maryland crab cakes, New England clam chowder, and fresh oysters. Or if it’s Italian you’re craving, give it a try with an Argentine influence at Alfio’s Buon Cibo. Appetizer choices include fried cheese ravioli and burrata while entrees range from chicken piccata and braised short ribs to pistachio-crusted salmon and filet mignon.

Harboring a rich history, The Echo boasts menu items like the Crabby Benedict, 3-Way Mess, and Pumpkin Pie Pancakes. Running from May to October, residents of Oakley apartments can buy fresh produce and homemade goods at the Hyde Park Farmer’s Market. Then in June, you’ll want to gather your friends for the super fun Hyde Park Blast where residents can run, bike, or chariot race for a good cause.

By far one of the most popular events in the city is the Hyde Park Art Show. Going on its 53rd year, this massive art show that takes place in October is the largest juried art show in the Midwest and features over 200 artists creating works of art in a variety of mediums. Once the holidays roll around, the fun really starts to crank up at Hyde Park Square. You’ll definitely want to check out Halloween on the Square when kiddos parade around in cute costumes while games and activities are set up across the park.
