It’s always a good time for a craft beer, and luckily for the residents of our Elizabeth Charlotte apartments, there are lots of unique, creative, and tasty breweries nearby. So, whether you had a long day at work, a great day at work, or maybe the day off from work—there are plenty of breweries that offer a place to hang out with friends and family while sipping on a cold beer and eating some delicious food.

These are some of the breweries just a short drive from Elizabeth Station, each offering a one-of-a-kind experience and creative beers (or ciders!).

Lower Left Brewing Co.

Pouring award-winning beers since 2019, Lower Left Brewing Co, is brewing every style of beer you can imagine. From IPAs and sour ales to Farmhouse and Barrel-Aged beers, they are always experimenting and coming up with new creations. Visit their website for hours and a current taplist.

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery

Boasting a massive outdoor patio and an indoor Bierhall, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is the perfect spot to meet up with family and friends. The lively community atmosphere is welcoming and inviting, making you want to stay and sip on a pilsner or dunkelweizen all afternoon. If you’re hungry, The OMB has a fantastic menu featuring German fare such as bratwurst, Bavarian-style pretzels, pork schnitzel, and more. GoodRoad Ciderworks

If you prefer cider or mead over beer, head over to GoodRoad Ciderworks! Using ingredients from orchards spanning the east coast, GoodRoad is creating mouth-watering cider and mead in a variety of styles and flavors. Legion Brewing SouthPark

Sit inside or outside while enjoying a craft beer at Legion Brewing SouthPark. The patio is dog-friendly and there are heaters if it gets a bit chilly. Enjoy one of Legion’s flagship beers like the Penguin Pils, Flicker Daze Hazy Wheat, or the Juicy Jay East Coast IPA. Or, try a seasonal brew like the Hot Fuzz Jalapeno Peach Sour Ale in the summer or the General Zara-Gose Margarita Sour Ale in the spring. Brewers at 4001 Yancey

In addition to crafting and brewing beer on-site, Brewers at 4001 Yancey also offers brews from well-known Victory, Sixpoint, Southern Tier Brewing and Distilling Companies. When you visit, expect to find 35-40 rotating beers and ciders with seasonal favorites. Also offering food, their menu boasts snacks like pretzels, nachos, and fries, as well as sandwiches, burgers, kebabs, tacos, pizza, and more. Sugar Creek Brewing Company

Sugar Creek Brewing Company is dedicated to crafting Belgian-inspired ales with full-flavors that are ‘intensely drinkable”. Infusing traditional recipes with modern techniques, they aim to make beer that nourishes both the mind and the body. Try their Sugar Creek Pale Ale, Mocha Java Porter, or their Raspberry White Ale. Protagonist

When there is beer and pizza under one roof, you really can’t go wrong. That’s what makes Protagonist a neighborhood favorite. The huge, 20,000-square-foot brewery has three bars, a barrel room, and a heated outdoor patio. On tap, you’ll find classic beers like lagers, IPAs, blondes, and more—all named after a certain protagonist. If you don’t like beer, they also have a very impressive wine and cocktail list.
