Only three people at The Connor Group can say they’ve been here longer than Rob Murray. Even fewer can say they’ve left the kind of mark he has. Earlier this month, Rob officially joined the 20-year club, and his impact is nothing short of legendary.
“I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me on day one that I would be where I am today,” Rob said.
Where he is today is a result of two decades of grit, humor and relentless standards. Rob started as a turn tech in 2005. Today, he’s the longest-tenured trainer in the company and serves as an executive senior regional service manager, still driving results and culture across markets. But ask Rob what he’s most proud of, and he won’t talk about numbers.
“It’s always about the people,” he said. “Without the right people by your side, it’s hard to accomplish anything.”
Over the years, Rob has helped position 23 properties for sale, contributing to more than $1.7 billion in returns. But to him, it’s the coaching and development that means the most.
“You’ve got to get people to buy into you first,” he said. “Then you can coach them in a way that fits their learning style or background.”
Whether he’s rebuilding the Columbus market or mentoring future leaders, Rob leads from the trenches. He’s the kind of leader who shows up early, stays late, and makes the hard things feel just a little easier.
“I work side-by-side with my guys,” he said. “I don’t see any of them leaving now, and a lot of that is due to me being here.”
Rob knows his legacy isn’t just in what he’s done, but in who he’s helped grow.
Today, he’s focused on shaping future leaders, instilling in them the discipline, heart, and humor that have made him an irreplaceable part of The Connor Group’s story.
Twenty years in, Rob isn’t slowing down. He’s still setting the tone, raising the bar and reminding us all that it’s not just about doing the job, it’s about doing it the right way, together.
20 years of excellence.
20 years of culture.
20 years of Rob Murray.
