And for residents of Cross Creek, there are so many amazing activities and places to explore nearby. Parks, greenways, and museums are all just a short drive away. Here are just a few of the many options to spend an afternoon or weekend out and about near our luxury apartments in Murfreesboro.

Discovery Center at Murfree Spring

Just under six miles away from our Murfreesboro apartments is the Discovery Center. Here, you and your family can have a hands-on experience learning about everything from Tennessee nature and wildlife, the human body, to history about our Constitution. Kids will love the Creation Station where they can play with every art medium imaginable. They can also check out the Train Depot where they can pretend to be train conductors and the Farmers Market where they can shop for all sorts of fresh groceries.

Barfield Crescent Park

Less than 15 minutes from Cross Creek is Barfield Crescent Park. The gorgeous 430-acre park offers 7 miles of both paved and unpaved hiking and walking trails, 12 campsites, a baseball complex, playground, an 18-hold disc golf course, horseshoe pits, nature center, and gift shop. Basically, it’s an outdoor space for constant fun.

Long Hunter State Park

Drive less than 30 minutes from our Murfreesboro apartments and you’ll find yourself and the beautiful and tranquil Long Hunter State Park. Sprawling over 2,600 acres, the state park has four sections: Couchville, Baker’s Grove, Bryant Grove, and Sellars Farm. There are over 20 miles of trails for hiking, walking, and biking that traverse through a variety of terrains and habitats. Other available activities include fishing, camping, and swimming. There is also a 50-foot tall rentable tower adventure course.

Murfreesboro Greenways and Wetlands

The impressive Murfreesboro Greenway System consists of the Lytle Creek and Stones River trails. Walk, bike, and take in nature along 15 miles of stunning greenway trails that connect to historical sites like Stones River National Battlefield and Cannonsburgh Village, parks, neighborhoods, and local businesses.

Gateway Island

Not even four miles from our apartments in Murfreesboro is Gateway Island. Known as a picturesque venue for weddings, photoshoots, and other celebrations, the beautiful destination is home to the Gateway Island Trail which connects to the Murfreesboro Greenway System. The well-lit trail offers multiple loops, ranging in length from .23 miles to 1 mile.
