If there is one thing for certain, 2020 has completely turned our lives upside-down. Things that were once so normal have practically disappeared – everything from work to school and travel to events. Nothing seems to be the same. And although the pandemic has certainly put a damper on many summer events and outings – not all is lost.
Residents and future residents of our Dayton area apartments will find relief in knowing that there are plenty of fun events and happenings that haven’t been canceled. Of course, there are different safety and health protocols in place, but that shouldn’t stop you from having fun and making great memories this summer season. Here’s what’s going on.
Concerts
Deeds Carillon Concerts – Not just a summer occasion, the Deeds Carillon Concerts occur at the Carillon Historical Park every Sunday from April to December on Sundays. The incredible concerts are performed by award-winning carillonneur Larry Weinstein and are completely free to the public. Be sure to wear a mask when social distancing cannot be maintained. Painting
Painting With A Twist – Gather up your friends and drive less than 4 miles away to Painting With A Twist for an afternoon full of creativity, laughs, and a bit of wine (BYOB and snacks – no hard liquor). Professional artists will teach you a scheduled piece of artwork step by step as you have fun and chit chat. The classes run from 2-3 hours and special health precautions are currently in place. Fitness
Virtual Cardio Dance In The Park – Even though the gathering isn’t happening in person at RiverScape Metro Park, Cardio Dance in the Park is still happening – virtually or outside on your own! “Please join us as Meghan of Fit N Fruitful – Dance Fitness provides a YouTube streamed Cardio Dance in the Park class to do at home or in your favorite MetroPark,” says the events Facebook page.
