Parker and Otis
Shopping – Less than a five-minute walk from our Downtown Durham apartments is one of the city’s most well-known stores—Parker and Otis. This well-curated store is packed full of fine foods, wine, salts, chocolates, glassware, kitchen supplies, bar supplies, and more. Everything you could ever want for your kitchen or home can be found at Parker and Otis. It’s the perfect stop if you ever need to purchase a housewarming gift.
Other fun stuff – Not only is Parker and Otis a wonderful store to visit, but it’s also a cafe serving up delicious quick eats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On the menu, expect to find items like a Black Forest Ham and Asparagus Scramble, Shrimp BLT, and Curry Chicken Salad.
Shopping – Keeping walking just one minute past Parker and Otis and you’ll reach Brightleaf Square. Located in a pair of historic tobacco warehouses in downtown Durham, the square is full of an eclectic group of locally-owned shops and restaurants. Shoppers can browse a dozen shops that are on-site at Brightleaf Square featuring unique gifts, cutting edge fashion, rare books, and more. Known for having a “little bit of everything,” the history-rich West Durham street is lined with local shops, restaurants, salons, galleries, and so much more.
