And when you’re a resident of our luxury apartments in Stone Oak, you have access to so many of them nearby. Parks, geological formations, and wildlife – the area truly has it all. Here are some one-of-a-kind and memorable outdoor experiences located within a short drive of Cypress at Stone Oak.

 

Natural Bridge Caverns

Located just half an hour from our Stone Oak apartments is one of the most spectacular natural parks in the region. Natural Bridge Caverns has gorgeous caverns and caves made of limestone, with adventure and fun around every corner. Take a cavern tour, make your way through the 5,000-square-foot maze, or fly high on a zip rail or ropes course. The fun is endless when you spend the day (or weekend!) at this unique natural park. Eisenhower Park

If you’re in search of something a little more relaxing or if you’re looking for a free outing, Eisenhower Park is a fantastic option. This 420-acre park has something for everyone of all ages. There are 6.35 miles of trails, playgrounds, grills, fountains, and a pavilion that you can rent for private events. Spend your day reading a book in the green space or walking your dog on-leash via the beautiful trails. It’s a gorgeous day well spent. Comanche Lookout Park

Another fantastic park nearby is Comanche Lookout Park. Located just over 20 minutes from our Stone Oak apartments, this incredible 96-acre park includes the fourth highest point in Bexar County with an elevation of 1,340 feet. There are 4.55 miles of trails, both asphalt and natural surface, as well as fitness stations with nine pieces of interactive and stationary equipment. Comal Park

“Comal Park is a 116- acre park located on the South shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville. This lakefront park is currently open from March through October as a first- come, first-serve day-use only facility. No reservation is required to enter the park.Comal Park has picnic sites, two boat ramps, a pea gravel and sand swim beach, a playground, and restrooms throughout the park. The park has a variety of recreational activities including a sand volleyball court, soccer goals, and four washer pits,” the boast on the park’s website. Learn more here.

 

Friedrich Wilderness Park

For more trails and outdoor fun, head over to Friedrich Wilderness Park, just half an hour from our luxury apartments in Stone Oak. Along the 10 miles of trails, you can keep an eye out for rare birds, gorgeous orchids, and deep canyons. In fact, this park is internationally known for bird watching and is a nesting site for two federally listed endangered species of birds – the Black-capped Vireo and the Golden-cheeked Warbler.
