From parks and restaurants to breweries and special events, there are so many dog-friendly activities going on near City Walk. So, when you’re hanging out with friends after work or grabbing lunch with the family, don’t forget to bring the pup too!

Outdoor Fun

Of course, parks and outdoor recreation are always a great option when it comes to having fun with the dog. Luckily, there are so many amazing outdoor options nearby. Battle Creek Regional Park is less than a 10-minute drive from City Walk and is a perfect destination for the entire family. Let your dog run wild in the off-leash dog park or take a stroll on the paved trails. The park also has a playground, picnic tables, waterworks park, mountain biking trail, and more. Get in touch with nature at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve just 15 minutes north of our Woodbury apartments. Bring your pup (on-leash) while you explore the 2,165-acre park with paved trails, hiking trails, swimming ponds, play structures, and more. While you’re there, keep an out for red fox, weasels, cottontail rabbits, pheasants, and lots of other wildlife. Feel like staying for the weekend? There are reservable campgrounds as well.

Spend a sunny afternoon watching your dog play at Andy’s Bark Park. Located just over 7 miles from City Walk is the city’s off-leash dog park named after the Police Department’s first K9 officer, “Andy”. The park has everything your dog could ever want with walking trails, watering station, covered areas with picnic tables, waste disposal station with bags, and restrooms.

Your dog is a member of the family, so you don’t want to leave them behind just because you’re out grabbing a bite to eat. Luckily, there are plenty of dog-friendly dining options nearby. Brunson’s Pub dates back to the Prohibition era and the history-filled establishment is a great option when you want to enjoy a delicious meal with your dog by your side. You’ll find creative cocktails, twenty tap beers, wine galore, and a mouth-watering menu with items like cheeseburgers, sandwiches, tacos, wings, and more.

Head downtown to Meritage where you and your furry best friend can hang out and enjoy some timeless French cuisine for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Located in one of the most charming areas of St. Paul, Moscow on the Hills “specializes in comfort foods and classics, with a number of recognizable dishes such as Beef Stroganoff, Borsht, and Blini with Caviar,” according to their website. Lakes Tavern & Grill also allows dogs on their patio and it’s only a 4-minute drive from our apartments in Woodbury. Open for lunch and dinner with breakfast on the weekends, this popular neighborhood establishment is cooking American fare with an international twist.
