For those that live at our East Riverside apartments, you’ll love spending those sunny days by our resort-style pool, outdoor entertainment area, pet park, or rooftop terrace. But on those days when you really feel like immersing yourself in nature, there are some gorgeous parks within a short drive. Here are some serenely beautiful parks to visit near Edison Riverside.

 

Pease Park

Just over 5 miles from our southeast Austin apartments is the popular Pease Park. This 84-acre sprawling urban park is the perfect place to relax and spend some time surrounded by nature. Fun for all ages, guests will find art installations, a splash pad, trails, a playground, and lots more. The well-known park is also the annual host of Eeyore’s Birthday Party and a disc golf course. Butler Metro Park

Formerly known as Town Lake Metro Park, Butler Metro Park is just over 3 miles from our Riverside apartments in Austin. This winding park with city vistas is popular for running, walking, biking, and more. The little ones will love the long-awaited Children’s Garden where you’ll find 2 acres of recreational and cultural space featuring play structures and a splash pad. Zilker Park

The Zilker Metropolitan Park was built for families, adventurers, and fitness enthusiasts in mind. The massive 351-acre park offers endless options for an entire day of family fun. It’s impossible to be bored when Zilker has amenities like a disc golf course, 5 volleyball courts, a natural-springs swimming pool, rec center, Playscape for the kids, nature and science center, botanical gardens, and a theater. Sculpture Falls and Hill of Life Falls Loop

You’ll only need to drive 15 minutes before arriving at picturesque waterfalls that look straight from a storybook. The Sculpture Falls and Hill of Life Falls Loop is the ideal destination for a quick run or hike with a stunning view. The 3.3-mile loop trail is considered to be a bit challenging so be prepared to get those lungs pumping – and expect to take just under two hours to complete the loop. Onion Creek Metropolitan Park

A 20-minute drive from our southeast Austin apartments and you’ll find yourself at the massive Onion Creek Metropolitan Park. Boasting 517 acres, the park is divided into north and south sections, connected through the 250-acre Onion Creek Greenbelt. With plenty of room to hike and run, it’s a fantastic place to bring your dog and children. Walk the trails while you take in sights of creeks, wildflowers, birds, and other wildlife.
